Confusion understanding updates (end my battery issues)

After getting sick of battery drain in the first few days of owning this phone, I sought to update it.
My phone was on B137, and I downloaded a B161 update which improved battery a fair bit, but I am now a little confused as I have a C900B161 and can't find this rom to download anywhere.

My questions:
So the C### is a regional thing from what I've gathered.
Can I simply download any region B170 update and run it, or have I done wrong doing so with installing B161 already?

Why is there such a battery drain issue?

Phone bricked, can only access fastboot, bootloader locked

Device isn't detected in flash mode, only works in fastboot mode. I was able to get another handset with the same model number (e5823) to work in flash mode so I think it's a problem specific to this handset. Are there any options for unbricking my phone with fastboot with the bootloader locked? I would prefer to keep it locked because if I can't get it fixed myself I can at least make a warranty claim but if anyone can help me to recover the device using fastboot it would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Custom BOOT.IMG creation method for Samsung Galaxy S7

Hi All,

I have purchased Samsung Galaxy S7 Indian model( SM-G930FD) for development. I got kernel source file from opensource.samsung.com and build process also completed and it created Image and Image.gz files under "" /arch/arm64/boot/ "" but it is not creating required zImage &ramdisk.gz ..

How to make a boot.img file by using Image & Image.gz files?
or
is there any alternate way to create boot.img file?
or
How to convert Image file to zImage?
