Helo guys..... When I tried to flash stock rom on my moto E... I am getting only this error stating Bootloader failed to erase partition ........
I used RETAILDSDSALL_XT1022_4.4.4_KXC21.5-40_cid7_CFC.xml to flash.......

OTG Question HELP!

I have connected an OTG cable to my device, I also have a powered USB hub connected to the other end of the OTG cable, When I try using a male to male USB cable to go from the USB hub to my computer my phone does not talk to the computer. Can I by making a special cable, have my phone talking to the computer and OTG?

No mobile data anymore

Hey guys
I rooted my 920c and installed a custom recovery, however after flashing a new rom I lost mobile data. I've tried flashing other roms and a new modem through odin but it didn't help. Any other solutions before I return back to my backup?

HTC 526G+ Taiwan Stock Rom

Hey Guys,

I realized that the Indian stock ROM for htc 526g+ doesn't work well for the Taiwan devices experiencing stuff like overheating , blank screens and camera not starting well for some apps like Snap chat.:p

So i could successfully get the stock rom files from my friend using nandroid backup :

~ System . ext4 . tar
~ Recovery . img
~ uboot . img
~ Boot . img

So now i need help on how to use this files to work on the htc 526g+ taiwan because the device doesnt have a custom recovery nor can the bootloader can be unlocked in some devices

HDX AT&T email not deleting

Hello..this might be a simple fix for most but not very tech savvy :D
I use both AT&T and Gmail for emails. The AT&T email constantly asks me to sign in, more than once a day, and when I delete or move an email, it reappears after a few seconds. The gmail works fine and it works fine on pc and cell so something isn't right on the kindle. Thanks for any help..I had this happen several months ago, called Amazon and they fixed it but I just don't like calling them..they're hard to understand and SLOW! Then I had one of those bugs that freeze your device, had to deregister device, etc, and it started happening again after about a month.

LG G2 Marshmallow System UI Bootloop

Hi,

When i wanted to modify the navigation bar to add a new layout, the error "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" appeared and restarted the entire phone's UI, giving that error back and forth and not allowing me to interact with it.

I rebooted the phone hoping that it will get fixed but no luck, it keeps showing that error and i can't even get to the main screen.

I can still access to recovery, but i don't know which file holds the settings for the part i modified.

Can you help me to solve this?

[HELP] In call volume is too low or inaudible and Mic. is also has a problem

Hey, i have a problem with Z2 that the incall volume is too low or inaudible... i don't know why is this?? :confused: :confused:
I'm using Existenz Marshmallow 2.0 latest without any modifications.. so is there is any tweak or flashable zip or anything that increase the incall volume and make it clear????? :confused:

Another problem that alot of people had told me that they cannot hear my voice clearly so what is the problem?? is there is anything to improve my mic.??

Notes: (A) The problems still appear in the two cases of each of that:
1- Checking or Unchecking for Microphone noise suppression.
2- Checking or Unchecking for Speaker voice enhancement.
(B) The problem of incall volume and mic. not a hardware problem because it appear in some roms and it be solved completely in other roms like Existenz v1.0.5 4.4 [KK] so it's a software problem

So is there is any solution for incall volume and Mic. ?? Please help!!!!! :mad:

Lost data on calls.

Have 4g when not on call. 1x on call. I have a us unlocked running on verizon. Latest twrp. Have tried Venom and ice. Loafing leesroid now to try. Advanced calling also messed up. I have no wifi calling option. Called verizon and all turned on. Have tried format data. Not sure what to try next. I'm s-off and unlocked. Any ideas?

[Q] Keeps restarting, unable to hard reset, keep returning to previous state

Hi all,

I have an AT&T used in Australia (not with AT&T anymore) The phone keeps crashing and reboots randomly. I tried to do factory reset but keeps failing. It always returns to the previous state. Even when I tried to uninstall some apps, deleted the files (images, video, document) it reboots and returns to the previous state complete with the deleted apps and files.
I tried soft reset, hard reset. I tried both from fastboot and recovery still failed. I tried flashing RUU, it rebooted in the middle of the process and backed to previous state.

Anyone has idea?

WiFi does not work properly when Bluetooth is turned ON

Some weeks I have a BT device when connected to my N5 (6.0.1 - MOB30H), and I noticed that the Wifi is with many problems (do not connect to wifi; when connected, do not down/up or is very slow) and immediately after I turn off BT, everything returns to normal.
Already tested with other BT devices and the problem persists. Even if without any connected device, the simple fact of turning on the BT is cause the malfunction of WiFi.
I've tried wipe and the problem persisted.
Does anyone have the same problem? Any solution? :confused:

After cleaning rom (Killing all open apps) whatsapp dose not receive messages

i just bought Huawei mate 8 , model : NXT-AL-10.

When im "Killing" all apps and cleaning the ram . whatsapp stops getting new messages , only when the app is open at the background .

Auto start is enabled , also push notifications enabled . looked around on the internet and saw that other people had this problem but didn't find a solution .

other apps works fine .... like Gmail or Facebook .

Help needed:strange S3 mini became sim locked after installing custom rom

Hello ,
I hope that someone could help me !

My friend ask me to mod a galaxy s3 mini i8190n .
It was bought in UK (used from a shop) , but from the splash screen i saw that it was original from french (SFR carrier).
Before do everything i checked the IMEI displayed and it was the same of the sticker behind battery (it was ok) and i saved the original firmware code .

The phone was working properly with an uk sim , so i didn't think that it was sim locked .

I rooted the phone and made a backup with CWM.
After i saw the last release of cyanogenmod 12.1 , i flashed TWRP and CM12.1.
I didn't try with sim inserted at the beginning . After all wipes the system was unstable (reboot , black screen etc ) .
So i tried to flash the Resurrection Remix (last release) that worked better .
With the last rom i tried 2 sims (perfect working in other two phones) and both are not recognized (no sim icon).
No message for unlock the phone on starting was displayed!

I thought at that moment that probably the phone could have some problem with flashed roms.
I decided to reflash CWM and restore the original firmware from backup . The problem persisted (no sim ).
So i found the original rom on sammobile and flashed it . No sims recognized as well !
Imei was the same with all roms , so i think that the EFS folder is good !

I read a lot and discovered that the sim unlock is stored in a protected memory area , so i think i couldn't delete the unlock . Am i right ?? and i would like to exclude an hardware problem .. because the phone was working properly before the modding!

What could I do for resolve this problem? The phone is not mine and i'm so sorry to have made a mess!

[Q] Bluetooth will not connect to other phones

My moto g (2nd) gen's bluetooth is very strange. It will connect to my car's bluetooth and my bluetooth speakers just fine, but when I try to connect it to other phones it fails to connect. It can pair with them just fine, but when I tap on their name to connect with them the my phone indicates "connecting" then "connected" then after about 1/2 a second disconnects. I've tried wiping the cache but that didnt seem to work. Any ideas?

Lenovo A816 Rooting

Hello. Could anyone help me with rooting this phone? I have tried all the once click apps out there and I've tried the computer based ones too. My phone is Lenovo A816. Its in Chinese, but English language is installed. Could I put a custom rom on it too? Please help. Starting to think its impossible to root this phone. New kernel (from May 13th, used in AEROM and Darksense 2.0.x) cannot access SD card?

Hi!
I could not post this to the Development forum (new member :) so I'll try it here:
I've installed the DarkSense ROM 2.0.1 which is using a new kernel (extracted from AEROM v2). After fullwipe and install, the system cannot use the SD card anymore. At system start, it tells the SD card is damaged --> select "Portable Storage" and format SD card --> still shows as defect after format.
I've already tried to change filesystem to FAT, exFAT, EXT3, EXT4 using TWRP and reboot afterwards--> all show the same error.
I am using the following card: Kingston SDCA3/128 GB microSDXC (UHS-I U3)
I now flashed back Eragon ROM v2 and all is working well again with the SD card.
So question is: what is responsible for this behaviour? New kernel possibly? Anybody tried the new kernel (either AEROM v2 or DarkSense 2.0.1) with an SD card?

Strange Problem!!! I cant get calls sometimes, but i have signal?!!?

Hey, i have a sm-g920f and im on 5.1.1 and its rooted and everything is okay, but sometimes when someone wants to call me, it goes on the mailbox, but i hqve almost full signal?!? when i open then the telephone app manually, it works then and shows me who called me, it sometimes has this problem, not always. how can i fix that?

Completely Dead P8000 - any help much appreciated

Hi all,

Sorry for such a depressing first thread! Had my P8000 for about a year with no real major issues. I did root it, so SPFlashTool all worked fine and I know how to use and I took it to bits about 3 months ago to fix the headphone jack. The other day, I took the MicroSD out, copied some files across to it and put it back in. When I checked the phone 5 mins later is was dead dead. No LED, no response to vol up/down and power, no charging no nothing. So I can't get to the recovery bootloader screen.

Tried connecting to charger for ages, nothing happened.

Tried SPFlashTool but no USB noise from Windows and no response from phone. Tried another Windows PC with new drivers, same.

Tried disconnecting battery. Still completely dead and no response what-so-ever.

Anyone have any ideas (no matter how simple it sounds) of what to do next?

moto x 2014 not booting, struck in os starting screen

in my moto x 2014, i try to change the stock rom to custom rom, i used phill recovery method to install the os. every thing was done successfully installed including gapps. when i restart the mobile the screen struck in the os screen (for eg. for ressurrection remix os, the screen struck in the resurrection remix start page) and it didnt go inside the mobile.

i have tried all the known methods, please help me regarding this issue.

Android 6 Contacts Sync.. ?

So - got the official OTA to B211 Android 6.

Done it.

Now google contacts won't sync. I have installed the contact sync app from the HiApp store.. It says they are synced in the account settings for my gmail account.

Can I make the Screen Brighter? I have root!

Comparing my G5 with my brothers Samsung J5 at the weekend and I was disappointed with my screen brightness. It was noticeably dimmer and harder to read in the bright sunlight.

How to keep the countdown boot timer + RemixOS and Win10 dual boot

I have installed RemixOS on my Win10 tablet. The problem is that I do not have an enter key on my tablet. As a result I cannot select an OS in the dualboot menu.
The good news is that I can move between items. So my question is: how can I let the timer goes to zero even when I pressed a key?

Root access and apps question

Hey Guys!

I've been a lurker for a while on this site. The tutorials here helped guide me through rooting my i9505 :)

Now that I've got root access though, I've become increasingly paranoid about what apps I grant root access to. To my understanding, granting root permissions gives the program unrestricted access to do whatever it likes to your device. It will have free rein over the phone and if it was programmed to, could install backdoors or send your contacts/messages to a remote server or other malicious things and I'd be none the wiser.

With that in mind, there is an app that I want to use called apps2sd. The developer is actually a senior member of these forums. While I would like to just blindly trust that the app is clean and won't do anything bad. How does anyone know the app is everything it say's it is? I believe it's closed source, so how can a fellow developer give root to it and know it's not malware?

I don't mean to sound rude or unappreciative of the hard work that went into the app. I'm just wondering if someone out there can share their knowledge of development on this and if my reservations have merit or if other developers have analysed the app to determine that it is safe to use.

Is app checking a thing or are people just relying on safety in numbers?

[Q]: Any Android Head unit with immediate Radio-On feature?

Hi there,

I´m looking for a Android Head Unit for my 2009 Toyota RAV4.
Some points are really important for my (because my wife also drives this car ;) ):

- FM Radio has to be immediate on (so I guess this should be controlled by the MCU, right!?)
- it has to be a 2-DIN unit
- would be cool if my OEM GPS antenna could be used (dont know it this works)

Where are this pictures now?

Tested this in may samsung galaxy g900f and this not happens.
But in c6903 xperia Z1 - yes, very strange thing.
Procedure:

1.Have some amount of pictures on internal memory.
2.Connect to PC with windows.
3.CUT all pictures
4.Paste it to recycle bin.
5.Windows will ask you something like: are you sure? those files will be completely removed.
6.Press NO.
7.Disconnect usb cable before pressing NO.

Do again step 2,3,4
In 5 windows will ask you : are you sure?
and then disconnect usb cable.

Now where are those pictures?
You did not press yes so photos should stay on internal memory...but they disappear and free space increased...why?

Long text messages coming through with long time between parts

Since getting my p9000 I've noticed an issue when people send me long text messages. The parts come through with up to an hour between them. I initially thought it to be a network problem but it only happens on this phone. If I put my SIM in another phone it's fine and if I put my wife's SIM in the p9000 she gets the same issue.

This caused an issue last week as I replied to an SMS with "that sounds great", only to get the second part of the message 30 minutes later informing me of the death of a relative. The sender had no idea the messages had come through delayed and found my response inappropriate.

It happens regardless of which SMS app I use.

Anyone else experiencing it?

Decent Music app for Android Head unit??

Hi all,

I have an Android Headunit which is currently using the default music app. I'm looking for another one that has more functions.

When the unit starts up it will generally run the last running app which would normally be the music app. with the music app it will auto start playing again.

I'm basically looking for a decent music app that will auto start when opened. As well one that has album cover and has the random music function option.

I've played around with Tasker to play the music when the app runs but this won't work when the head unit auto starts the app.

CM 13 for Micromax Canvas xpress 2!

Hey guys!
This is my first xda post and it's about the MICROMAX CANVAS XPRESS 2:)
Today,I'm gonna show you how to install Cyanogenmod 13 with Andoid M onto your device.
This whole porting has been done by ARNOB POROSH so three cheers to him for his great work.

Now,how to install.....:cool:

(NOTE:YOU MUST BE ROOTED AND HENCE MUST HAVE A CUSTOM RECOVERY INSTALLED ON YOUR PHONE!)

1)Download the rom zip and move it over to your sd card(int. or ext.,you choose)
2)Boot into recovery .
3)Wipe System,Data,Cache
4)Wipe Dalvik Cache too
5)Now select install from sd card(i.e. the place in which you have the zip)
6)Select it and install!

So after you've installed it, it will take some time to boot but don't worry.If you still feel the urge to do something then you can pull out your battery after waiting for 2-3 min but it won't be necessary i think.

Now,there are some things to note,
1)You won't have a keyboard installed so you can put in the apk i provide link to.
2)Calibrate battery.
3)You will see that you can call people but when there is an incoming call,you can't recieve it,the dialer crashes. I have fixed it and for that i will put in the link of zip of Google Dialer and Contacts. But before flashing it from the recovery,install root browser and delete Contacts and Dialer from system/privapps folder,OKAY?

M9 Phones have more than one type/brand of screen?

Hello everyone,

I've just jumped to M9 from my old, but still as hard as stone Sennie not even two weeks ago. And today I got another M9 for my gf. My phone is a Taiwan M9U model, and hers, which I got today is M9 shipped to Germany. And here the story began, I turned on the new phone -note that mine was new too- and realized that the colors look different. There cannot such big difference of course as they have the same screen technology with same resolution and size. However, still, on the German one, whites are whiter, on the Taiwan model whites are a bit yellowish -not as much as amoleds- but still yellowish compared to the new one, which is annoying. Overally, German M9 screen looks better than the Taiwan M9U.

Note: Both phones are stock, not touched, updated to the latest version, display temperature vs. everything default.

Here are some possible reasons for that problem:

1. I remember Sensation screens were produced by two different manufacturers, and they had slight color balance differences of course. So this is one of the possible reasons for this difference (could not check the Panel id, getting permission denied when I put dmesg command. Dont know if this way I can get the screen brand on these phones, this was how we did to get Sensation display model/brand).

2. Taiwan phone was manufactured within one of the first sets of M9 models, so it is one of the earliest M9 phones, while the German one is 5 months old HTC live support agent says. So the changes in the display colors may be due to changing materials or whatever in time.

3. Probably the worst one here: Screen gets yellowish in time as the phone gets a bit hot, though it has been only 12 days since I started using my M9.

I will try to provide photos later, as I need another camera to show that clearly.

No GSM connection on my Nexus 5 anymore...

Hi,

Just writing this if anyone has an idea.

Some weeks ago, I bought a Nexus 5 for my daughter. It was a used device, but in good shape and perfectly functional.
My daughter is a bit clumsy... After 10 days I gave it to her, she said "Dad, I have no connection anymore".
And indeed, the carrier signal sign showed "empty".

Here's what I did to troubleshoot the problem (at least to try to troubleshoot it as it is still there) :
- 1°) swapped SIM cards : put mine into her phone and hers into mine : result, her SIM card is working in my phone ; mine isn't working in her phone ;
- 2° re-installed a Google Nexus 5 "Factory image"... so system is brand spanking new here :)

Here are the exact symptoms :
- 1°) with no SIM card the phone shows "Missing SIM card" symbol ;
- 2°) if I insert a SIM card, the symbol changes to an "Empty signal" symbol ;
- 3°) a message says : "No connection"... but this is followed by the carrier's name...

So I suspect that the card is working and is recognized, but that the antenna (or what ever it is) is not connected anymore.
Anyone knows if there's a simple fix to this ?
My daughter said she dropped the phone a couple of times (as I said, she's a little clumsy !).

Any help would be appreciated from this great community :)

Smartwatch Polaroid Pwatch/Topaz/PWAM500

Games are crashing and themes are not installing.

I tried visiting theme store for samsung it says ur device is not compatible and tried changing themes from settings phone shows no response . And i installed games like injustice and wolf among us...they are just crashing after giving a black screen. Don't knw whts the real issue with them. Please anyone help!

Hey guys, now that Asus has unveiled the specs and pricing of Asus Zenfone 3 variants, what do you think?

Asus ZenFone 3 is the most basic model of the three. It has an aluminum frame body with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and back. On the front is a 5.5-inch 1080p Super IPS+ display with up to 500 nits brightness and 77.3% screen to body ratio.
The Zenfone 3 also has a 16 megapixel camera on the back with ASUS TriTech autofocus that combines second generation laser autofocus, phase detection autofocus and contrast detection autofocus to achieve focus in 0.03 seconds.
The handset runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 and has up to 4GB of RAM. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back.

Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe is the flagship model. It has a full metal body with no visible antenna lines and 4.2mm edges. It is built around a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with over 100% NTSC color gamut and 79% screen to body ratio.
The phone runs on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with up to 6GB of RAM. On the back is a 23 megapixel Sony IMX318 camera with f2.0 aperture, 4-axis optical image stabilization, and 4K video with the same TriTech autofocus system as on the ZenFone 3.

[Q] Issue with Google Play Services Smart Lock and position

I've an issue with smart lock and the location in general with google play services. Every time I want to add location/edit location in Smart Lock, Google Play Services crash immediately. Share location through stock message app? Same problem.
I've tried to wipe app chace, downgrade and upgrade it (but seems I can't do it the proper way because although I've installed the -448 version, it won't work and even the Play Store gave me issue with updating: error DF-DLA-15).
So FULL WIPE and it work proper, but after re-installed all the app, it return to crash. I've tried to unistall some of the re-installed app (the most part of it haven't been configured) but neither this can fix the problem.
Can someone help me please?

i got a random reboot and freeze problem with G925F since MM 6.0.1

hi guys
since MM6.0.1 updated officialy from samsung, i got a random reboot and freeze problem, I tried to flash the rom again
and wipe cache and reset factory setting (normal and hard one ) and flashed another rom and downgrading back to lollipop
nothign actually work
seems the problem is not on the ROM or MM 6.0.1 no longer
anyone face this problem or found a solution for it ?

Noob!

Hi all, new to android so please bear with me. Been with ios since 3gs and fancied a change, bought myself a Galaxy s7 edge and loving it so far. Couple of niggles though that I'm hoping someone can help me with
1, bought the phone unlocked from eBay. When the phone boots up it shows Three network logo. Can this be removed?
2, I am with EE and they support WiFi calling. But I am unable to select this as it's not listed under settings. Do you think this is because the phone was first on Three network? Anyway around it?
3,Rooting, any info on this is greatly appreciated. Was always jailbroken on ios and am keen to learn the rooting ropes. Read a bit about it. Tripping knox is my main concern. Is it possible to root without doing this at the moment? And what issues may I have if I do trip knox? Should I be concerned? Obviously apart from it invalidating my warranty. Sorry for the long post. Look forward to hearing your replies 😊

Need to flash from KK to official 5 or both 5and6 firmware before flashing customroms

As of May2016 now, is it still necessary to flash from KK to official roms 5 or both 5and6 firmware before flashing custom roms ? Mine SM-9005 International.

Are there specific requirement of combination of modem + bootloader + firmware for the newer android roms?

Also, is the upgrade reversible if I kept functional KK Nandroid backup ? I recalled that it is not possible to downgrade from 4.4 to 4.3 and wonder if there is similar cases for higher android versions for SM-9005 International. Thanks.

What are critically wanted from a USB charger?

Hi, there!
I have a product, a 60W 6-port USB charger.
And to be honest, it sells quite bad.
My reviewers think it rivals the leading brand in quality and performance, and can stand continous use. But, still, the market is somewhat negative.
So, could you kindly share with me what are critically wanted from such a USB charger based on your experience with these items? I mean I need your precious ideas on how to refine it.
Meanwhile, 2 reviewers are wanted sincerely(US please for the item location). I don't expect it to boost in sales now but I do hope to make people know there is another brand named Allmaybe and they are endeavouring to make products of good quality.

Root the new Samsung Android 4.4.2 XXUCOI4

I have the original ROM 4.4..2 I9195XXUCNK4 and managed to root the phone with CF-Auto-Root-serranolte-serranoltexx
I saw that Samsung has released a new version I9195XXUCOI4
I installed it, but it's not possible to root it with the same patch CF Auto
the installation in download mode execute correctly, but when reboot the root checker says it's not coorectly rooted so i can't modify the system file (for example to delete Camera Shutter sound)

Any one has tried to root the new version of Samsung ? is there a different patch to root ?
I thought it may be needed to install a new recovery, but i don't which it !

Honor 7 app icons not updating

Dear honor 7 users,

I don't know if you have experienced this but when an app updates through google play the icons on your homescreen (the look of the icon) from old to new should change automatically, however, this does not happen on my phone which I find to be very strange.

Whenever an icon is updated it reflects on your homescreen as the old icon is changed to the new logo of the icon, for example Instagram has recently changed the look of their icon but I still see the old one on my phone. How do I update my app icons?

Is there a bug in EMUI which prevents this from happening or something wrong with my google play or phone itself?

Please help!

Galaxy j7: Problems about imei and network

Hi I'm using the Galaxy J700H phone its like 2mos old, and have the exact same problem, so please can you help me? My problem is, I think my IMEI number? When i dialed *#06# on my phone my IMEI is 350000000006 and FTW that's not even my IMEI anymore, I have the original IMEI number here backed up but i tried everything, step by step. But disappointingly nothing worked out. I used this sim card in all of my phones and lastly when i wiped out my phone and flashed custom rom in it, then this happened, then i decided to flash back my stock rom but nothing happened now my phone STILL displays EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY.. pls help

[REQUEST]

Anyonne knows where I can find oficiall firmwares for E2333. I can find some for Latin America or Nordic but none for Portugal ou West Europe. The phone had a the latest firmware until days ago. I was trying to root and flash recovery and in the process I flashed other versions of firmware. Now I have latest version but certanly from other region and the mic don't work. I want to flash a firmware from my region to try to resolve the mic issue but I don't see anywhere a list of firmwares like I does for my previous Samsung.

Can't Synchronise Google Account

It is a Motorola Moto G3 Running Marshmallow.

My phone is in Dutch, but after I go to the dutch equivalent of

Code:

Settings > Accounts -> Google -> mygoogleaccount@gmail.com -> menu -> synchronise now

, nothing happens. The listed Google services now all say that last time synch is some date in the past (a couple of weeks ago from now).

On the bottom of the page it says something along the lines of "Can't synchronise right now. Try again later".

Good to know is that the phone is also having other problems; home button not working together with messages and lock screen. (I looked this up and wanted to put a link for reference but can't because I need 10 posts first) I was trying to fix this first and factory reset appears to be the solution. After having looked it up, factory resetting the phone to Lollipop might be the safest bet.

But in order to do the fix by factory reset, I have to back-up my phone first. And in order to back up my phone ...

A cardboard app that mess up your mind

Hi there. We want some feedback.

We made this cardboard app to make "VR-goggles" less nerdy and more enjoyable for everyone presents.

The idea is that this experience is something everyone can take a part of, on the users behalf. So far it have been a success at partys and social gatherings where everyone have a great time laughing when someone is trying to solve even the simplest task. Even some times people challenge each other with two cardboards :)

The features is messing up with the users real view with mirror vision, delay vision (2 second back in time) or upside-down vision.

We had some challenge with the lag, but now the camera pass -through flows pretty well. And we experience that the users only uses this for a short time while solving their task.

What do you think about this? Is there any feature you miss?

bad RAM management

Hello all!

My Mate 7 (MT7-L09) has tremendous difficulties with multitasking. It is unable to keep more than 2 apps running, one in the foreground and one in the background. Out of the 2gb RAM available, about 500 to 750 MB are free for app use. But another problem is that those 500-750 MB's are never used and every app that I switch to from the multitasking view has to reload time and time again. Sometimes, my phone is even unable to run a music (streaming) app in the background or when the screen is off.

Does anyone else have this problem and/or know how to improve the situation?

I have a clean install of B522 installed with no root and minimal apps. "Performance" mode is always enabled and I do not have any malicious apps draining my RAM. Using the stock launcher with little costumization.

Stuck in Bootloop after entering a wifi password

Hello Guys,

since 2 days my phone stucks in a bootloop. I entered a wifi password, then my phone starts to reboot immediately. the lockscreen appear for just 1 sec and then the phone starts to reboot again. Im Using Android 6.0, unroot, usb debugging disabled, closed bootloader and no custom recovery. I can enter the download mode and the factory reset menu. I can reset my phone, but i dont wanna lose my pictures on the internal storage. Is it possible to save my pictures? Or how can i restore them after a Factory reset?
i also tried to reinstall Android 6.0 with the LG Flash Tool 2014, and did the installation without the factory reset, but it doesnt helped.
i hope someone could help me.

OpenVPN connection drops randomly in all circumstances under all conditions

I've used the standard OpenVPN for Android app as well as the proprietary clients that come with subscriptions to some VPNs. For every provider I've tried (which has to be at least 8), I've tried every server, every protocol for each server and every configuration tweak available for each server. This exhaustive search has taken nearly a year and has cost me at least $200 USD. Finally my stupid @$$ has realized either there's something wrong with every smartphone I've ever used or there is an inherent problem with my carrier or Android.

Any definitive direction or advice on this matter will be treated as direct gospel from the savior.

Exercise workout timer app

I'm looking for an app one can program, that tells the user for how much time he should go on with an exercise, or rest, in sequence.

I've found out "Workout Timer", which does exactly this, but unfortunately it's bugged and if you configure a list of exercises, it gets mixed up, it doesn't mantain the order.

Many other gym apps just implement a programmable timer with rounds, but they don't feature text-to-speech to tell the exercises.

Anybody knows another app with the aforementioned features?

Who else is facing audio stutter when listening to music over bluetooth?

EE and Samsung Pay?

I've been using Android pay for a week but have found that where I live there are a lot of terminals that don't accept tap to pay via nfc.
I notice that samsung pay can emulate the magnetic strip used on older terminals so thought may be worth giving it a go.
I tried to download the app from the play store but it says my device isn't supported! I could have sworn the s7 was supposed to be supported so am at a loss as to why I'm barred from using it.

Stock and custom kernel flasher script (pre-made or send in kernel)

Hi, this is my 3rd post on the great XDA Forums.

I present to you my custom flashing script for recovery.

WHY DID I MAKE THIS SCRIPT:

I made this from my own experience because sometimes I needed to flash a stock kernel back and I didn't want to download a whole ftf or rom to get my phone working again (especially because I will have needed to wait for the 'Android is starting' 'Optimizing Apps' rubbish, so I made this, which flashes the kernel elf file within the zip in recovery (which you can hot boot) ( I prefer the @DooMLoRD V11 kernel : http://ift.tt/1j5yn3m) .

If you want me to make a kernel flasher for your ROM kernel and any other standalone kernels for the Sony Xperia Z2, please send me thename of the ROM (link) and 'boot.img' file (upload it to Drive, MEGA, Mediafire etc) (I would prefer that you send the file renamed to 'boot.elf'). I will then archive it with credits to the creator of the ROM and/or kernel in the script if needed or existent. :highfive:

Memory issue for APP memory

Hello Experts.

I am facing a weird issue related to Memory available for App Storage in my Magnus device.

I had flashed the Rom and updated EBR files to increase the memory size available for App from 1.0 to 2.4 GB (All internal memory).
It worked fine. However since last few days I am unable to add/upgrade apps as available memory in play store is shown just 100 MB...

The total App memory is 2.6 GB...

LG G3 D851 stocked in HS-USB 9008 after installing D855 KDZ 6.0

I'm unable to enter download mode or turn on the phone after after installing D855 firmware in ma d851, my computer recognizes it as a Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 without short circuiting. I tried the BoardDiag method, but I get "Failed during loading flash programmer".
And when I use LG Flash Tool I get "Model Information Check Fail!"

Acer z160 flashing won't work

Acer Z160 flashing won't work. Please help!
Hello Sir, my friend's phone had an error on his phone(Acer z160 not rooted), all the applications crash at start-up. It came to my mind that I had to do a factory reset via stock recovery. After the reset, I restarted the phone and the error was still there. I decided to flash the stock ROM
(Acer_AV052_Z160_1.015.00_EMEA_GEN1) using the "SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1516.00" and the flash was successful. Rebooted the phone again, and the error was still there. In fact, the phone's password/pattern is still there, the wallpaper hasn't changed and apps are still there. What happened? What should i do? Could you please help me Sir. Any help would be appreciated

Sidesync files copy from phone to PC

I'm Trying to enable files drag and drop from Phone to PC, it only works from PC to phone.

I'm using A Galaxy S4 (m919), 4.4.4 Touchwiz

I tried to flash a ported "MyFiles" from Note4 (4.4.4 Touchwiz) .. it works as a file manager but when I try to drag and drop files from phone to PC, it doesn't work even though it displays the drag and drop icon on the phone, no file(s) ever gets copied to PC

I searched the T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 (including sub-forums), can't find a single thread about sidesync. is my computer broken , XDA banned Sidesync discussion or Am I the only one with sidesync issues ?

Google now carda on 6p gone

Since i got my 6p (20 december 2015) i dont get any now cards. I upgrad my nexus 6 in which the cards came daylie but the moment i logged with my 6p i only get weather, nothing alse. e2303 sleep (screen off) reboot

I have two of these (e2303), couple of months old and both have had the same problem, since unboxing. When the phone is sleeping it will reboot itself after 30 minutes, hour, two or more (and you won't hear that startup sound, as with normal reboot, just the boot animation). When the WIFI is turned on, reboots are more frequent, and with mobile data only (WIFI off), reboots are less frequent, anyhow the phone doesn't reach more than 30 hours uptime ever. The phone will never reboot while it is being used, screen on, it happens only when the screen is off. This all looks similar to the Nexus 4 sleep of death problem, however e2303 does not get frozen in sleep, it will just reboot instead.

Running latest firmware for e2303, .111.

Red triangle

My kindle fire HD got bricked when I incidentally deleted some files thinking they were temp and after reboot, I had this RED TRIANGLE WITH AN EXCLAMATION SIGN IN IT.
i have read most of your threads and and have tried a couple but my problem is that before the device got bricked I turn off ADB DEBUG MODE on the device and hence can not use most of the fastboot command. I have a fastboot cable and I can boot the kindle into fastboot mode but can not get any command to it since it says waiting for device.
Under device manager on my computer it actually sees it as an unknow device and hence does not install drivers for it.

Lost/Restore IMEI/Serial number Lenovo A536 Dual Sim

Inside of it there is a tool --> SN Write Tool v2.1504.00 which I've tried to use but unsuccessful. The problem is that while I am following the guide through the tool http://ift.tt/1TIOZ4Q , on step 9 I should use some MD1_DB and AP_DB files which I am "supposed to have in official firmware".
What I am only seeing in the firmware folder is shown here:

Would it be possible someone to give me some advice, or even better - tell me where I can find these files so i can continue with the final steps of the following guide of repairing SN & IMEIs ? :confused:

Question about sticky bit in file/directory permissions

Guess profi's here know what I am talking about then know purpose of it's existence.
Permissions look like:
~$ ls -ld /tmp/ drwxrwxrwt 13 root root 4096 may 29 12:05 /tmp/
Notice 't' in permissions.

Search leads me to fastbooot sticky bit which maybe is related but it is not I want to ask.
I want set up some files to have this bit ON for my purposes.
Is it possible on Android?
Choice is not visible in file manager choices..

[Rom] Flyme OS 5 Official Port by wuxianlin Whatsapp FC

I just flashed the new Flyme OS for my OPO.
Everything works fine till I installed Whatsapp.
I got everytime a FC when i try to start Whatsapp. :(

Does anyone has an Fix for this?

Strange bootloop / crash issue

Hi,

my gf's D855 (running CM13) has a strange bootloop/crash issue:
It crashes after entering the SIM-PIN, wiping dalvik helped then sometimes.

Today it is widely stuck at looping at the LG-logo. Sometimes it is possible to enter TWRP, so we reflashed the actual CM13-nightly. Booting went fine, but after entering the SIM-PIN, you can guess it, it rebooted. And now it is stuck at LG-logo-Looping. One moment I was able to enter TWRP again and wiped the internal storage, hoping only something there were broken and causing the issues. But now, well, it's looping again :(
